Reading

Reading is at the heart of learning at our school. From the very first shared stories in Early Years to confident, independent reading in Year 6, we nurture a love of books and language in every child. Our structured and engaging reading curriculum helps pupils develop fluency, comprehension and confidence through daily reading, guided sessions and access to a wide range of high-quality texts. We want every child to see themselves as a reader, building skills step by step while developing imagination, curiosity and a lifelong enjoyment of reading.

In reading we use Ashley Booth in Y3-6 and Fred’s teaching of reading in Y2. Please see Mr Pipe for more information on any of these.
