School and Eco Council

Our School Council and Eco Committee represent all pupils and help make our school a positive, caring place to learn. They listen to the ideas of others, work with staff and lead projects that improve school life.

Elections

Each class holds elections every year so new representatives can share their ideas and take on leadership roles. One pupil is elected from each class from Year 1 to Year 6.

How We Work:

  • A link teacher to support the group

  • An agenda for every meeting

  • Minutes recorded by the children

Our Responsibilities:

Eco Schools

As part of the Eco Schools programme, our Eco Committee helps the whole school learn about caring for our environment. Children take real action to make our school greener and more eco-friendly.

The programme helps pupils to:

  • Understand environmental issues and link them to their learning

  • Make environmental responsibility part of everyday school life

  • Build decision-making and leadership skills

  • Explore projects and events that support sustainability

  • Connect with other schools

  • Raise the school’s profile locally and nationally

  • Discover ways to save resources and reduce waste

Together, our School Council and Eco Committee help our pupils grow as confident, responsible and active members of our school community.
